Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Which language is spoken?
The circles are held in German. There is a translator who sits in a corner of the circle and translates into English. Some workshops are held in English, while others are conducted in German.

1.
Can I book individual days?

No, it is not possible to book individual days. Our intention is to create a shared experience where participants can deeply immerse themselves in community and dance together. Therefore, the minimum participation is from Friday to Sunday. If possible, we recommend joining from Thursday to Sunday to allow more time to arrive, connect, and fully engage in the group process.

2.
How can I book meals?

As the kitchen operates independently, the meal contribution is transferred to a separate account. If you would like to book meals, please transfer the corresponding amount directly to the following account:

3.
I booked a helper ticket – what happens next?

With a helper ticket, you support the festival with 4 hours of volunteering. We need support in different areas such as the kitchen, setup, dismantling, and the sanitation area.

In the coming weeks, you will receive a list of the different areas where help is needed. You can sign up for the area you would like to support. After that, the respective volunteer coordinators will contact you with further details about your task and schedule.

4.

What are the guidelines in the Ecstatic Dance space?

Our Ecstatic Dance space is a place for free movement, presence, and shared experience. To ensure everyone feels comfortable, the following guidelines apply:

  • No talking in the dance area: Conversations belong outside so everyone can dance undisturbed.
  • Be clear – no drugs or alcohol: The dance space is free from intoxicating substances.
  • Consent in connection: Listen for a “yes” and respect a “no.” Every interaction is based on voluntary agreement.
  • No phones or cameras: Set your phone to airplane mode and refrain from taking photos or videos.
  • Free from judgment: Move intuitively and as it feels right for you, without self- or others’ judgment.

5.
How many people will attend?

Last year, there were about 400 adult participants. We expect a similar number this year. As in the previous year, we will likely limit attendance once a certain number is reached to maintain the quality of the experience for everyone.

6.
What happens in the Kidsspace?

There will be arts and crafts materials as well as toys available. The Kidsspace is mainly intended as a meeting point and play area for children. Supervision and responsibility for the children always remain with the parents or guardians.

During the workshop sessions in the afternoon, childcare is offered for children aged 3–6 in the Kidsspace, and there are movement activities and forest games for children aged 6–12.

Children under 3 years old cannot be supervised, as a familiarization period would be necessary, which we are unable to provide.

7.
How does parking work?

  • No vehicle access into the forest: Please note that the camp area cannot be accessed freely by car.
  • Parking options: Public parking and a rented meadow at the forest entrance are available. Please do not use the spaces reserved for the forest restaurant.
  • Walk to the camp area: About 10 minutes (approx. 950 m).

 For heavy luggage:
During check-in hours (Thursday 3–8 PM, Friday 1–8 PM), a shuttle service for luggage runs every 20–30 minutes.

Campervans: Only registered campervans are allowed in the camp area and can assist with luggage transport. We invite you to see the walk through the forest as a conscious transition – into the camp, into nature, and into your connection.

8.
Are there showers?
Yes, as this is a tent camping site, there are sanitary facilities with sufficient showers and toilets available.

9.
Is the camp completely drug-free?
Yes, the camp is drug-free. Drugs such as cannabis, alcohol, and all stronger or mind-altering substances are not permitted. We want to connect in clarity and awareness.

Tobacco use is only allowed in a designated area, and not elsewhere on the grounds. Cacao and coffee are allowed.

10.
Can I cancel, resell, or transfer my ticket?

Cancellation
Cancellation is only possible if you purchased a Flex Ticket when booking. In that case, you can easily cancel your ticket through the ticket shop.

Resale & Transfer
Tickets issued via Eventfrog are personalized. Therefore, reselling or transferring a ticket to another person is only possible if you provide them with a copy of your ID and a signed authorization letter. Both documents must be presented at check-in.

Please note: Each ticket can only be used once for entry. After the first check-in, the ticket becomes invalid for any further admission.

11.
Are dogs allowed?

We kindly ask for your understanding that dogs are unfortunately not permitted at the festival.

12.
Is there a marketplace, and how does it work?

Yes, there will be a few market stalls featuring arts and crafts, clothing, and other creative products.

If you would like to sell your own products, you only need a regular festival/camp ticket, as well as your own canopy and table. After a short request to us, you can easily join and set up your stand.

13.
Do I need to bring my own tent?
Yes. Booking a campsite does not mean that a tent is provided. You and your group are responsible for bringing your own tent and setting it up yourselves.

14.
Can I come on my own?

Absolutely! Many people come to the Black Forest Ecstatic Dance Camp by themselves, and some of the most beautiful connections grow from that.

We've intentionally designed the festival structure to make it easy to meet and connect with others. Shared circles, connecting workshops, and a clear daily rhythm offer support and create many natural opportunities to get to know new people.

And, of course, dance is at the heart of it all—a space where you can connect deeply with yourself and with others in an authentic way.

Whether you come on your own, with friends, or as a family, you are very welcome.
